Elementary | The Well Church

Our vision is to see the gospel saturate a people, awakening them to the glory of God to treasure Jesus as better.

In Well Elementary, we do this by partnering with parents to build a gospel-saturated spiritual framework for their children's lives by offering weekly guides for the sermon & bi-monthly gatherings for children (1st-6th Grade) & their parents to give them both the resources & care they need to teach, talk, & tie the gospel into everyday life.

Whether in worship on Sundays, Well Elementary class time, or Elementary Breakfast Club, our "framework" for Elementary discipleship (built on the "foundation" laid in Well Kids) stands on three legs -

Christian Story, Belief, & Formation developed by The Village Church in Flower Mound, TX.

STORY

We learn Bible reading skills & the basic storyline of Scripture.

BELIEF

We study the attributes of God & classical Christian doctrines.

"What does the text mean?"

FORMATION

We practice spiritual disciplines growing in Christ together,

"What must we do then?"

Each of our volunteers have completed a rigorous safety screening process & stands ready to serve you & your family with the love of Jesus! Interested in serving as a Small Group Leader? Contact Sean! *Membership is required.

Breakfast Club is from 8:30-10am in the Well Elementary area at the BCM (1st floor lobby) every 2nd Sunday of the month. Bring a friend, a Bible, & your appetite because breakfast is provided! We will learn more about who God is, what He's done, & how that changes our lives! Parents are welcome to join OR fellowship together in an available room. Your choice!

Well Elementary class time on 4th Sundays follows Well Elementary-specific curriculum & takes place during worship in the Well Elementary area 10:15am-12:15pm. Check-in a few minutes early at the check-in desk.

No breakfast or parents (unless they're serving) for Class Time!

ELEMENTARY

Each month before EBC, our brave "Breakfast Team" caters breakfast for all 50-60 of us so we can wake up, get dressed, & get out of the door even earlier those 2nd Sunday mornings.

The menu is donuts (GF too), kolaches, & yogurt/fruit/granola. Water is available for kids. Keurig coffee is available for adults.

Each Breakfast Club, kids gather in the Well Elementary area to eat, fellowship, & play a few games together before "large group" where a staff member or volunteer leader leads everyone in reviewing a key portion of the Biblical narrative (Christian Story) and teaches the associated attribute of God (Christian Belief). Attributes include:

1 - God is INFINITE. God has no limits.

2 - God is SELF-SUFFICIENT. God depends on nothing.

3 - God is OMNIPOTENT. God is able to do all He wants.

4 - God is OMNIPRESENT. God is everywhere all the time.

5 - God is WISE. God knows what is best.

6 - God is GOOD. God is what is best.

7 - God is JUST. God does what is right.

8 - God is MERCIFUL & GRACIOUS. God gives us what we don't deserve.

9 - God is LOVING. God is affectionately committed to our good.

10 - God is JEALOUS. God protects what He loves.

11 - God is PATIENT. God waits for what He loves.

12 - God is FAITHFUL. God does what He says He will do.

After large group, kids break into grade-specific small groups or "Formation Groups" with their leaders & peers to discuss the practical implications of said story/attribute (Christian Formation) before coming back together in Room 4 to sing the doxology & pray.

Parents are free to use the time on-site however they please, often joining first-timers in Room 4 for large group.

The entirety of class time is spent intentionally engaging your child with sermon-related content focused on comprehension & application as well teaching them general Bible literacy, memorization, & navigation skills.

By starting class time with a few different learning activities focusing on meeting children's different learning style, we hope kids will get thinking & moving about the content ahead! Then, we'll sing the Memory Verse of the Month & worship God through song before praying. practicing our Bible reading / discussion skills, & ending with some more learning activities to review.

It should be a good time!

No, children below 1st or above 6th grade are encouraged to ride separately to church later since breakfast is primarily for 1st-6th graders & there are no designated leaders or staff to supervise them during that time.

However, if for whatever reason that is NOT a feasible option for your family, yes, your older/younger kids may also join us for breakfast & fellowship with parents.

If you bring any foods or drinks that contain common allergens such as gluten, dairy, soy, etc, please be careful NOT to expose them to others.

Tree nuts & alcoholic/tobacco/vaping products or any illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

Unless you are on the Security Team, please do not bring a firearm into the kids building, concealed or otherwise.
